LOS ANGELES, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- A movie is being planned on the incident this week in which a Chicago Cub fan tried to catch a foul ball and ended up a hated man.
Revolution Studios is casting "Fan Interference," a comedy about a man who gets in the way of a foul ball at a critical moment and has to deal with the ramifications. Kevin James, star of "King of Queens," will play the unfortunate soul, Daily Variety reported.
The incident occurred during Tuesday's Game 6 of the National League Championship Series when fan Steve Bartman's try for a foul ball accidentally kept Cub outfielder Moises Alou from catching it for a second out. Florida went on to rally and win the game, then took Game 7 and a trip to the World Series.
Bartman, who needed a guard to leave the stadium, apologized profusely and said he was heartbroken. He had plenty of company.
