The estimated completion date is September 2021.

Army Contracting Command is the contracting activity.

The Joint Effects Targeting System is an Army-led, joint-interest program with the Air Force and Marine Corps to develop and field a one-man-portable, handheld capability to rapidly acquire, precisely locate and engage targets with precision-guided munitions while improving the effectiveness of engagement with unguided munitions.

The system allows small units supported by Army forward observers and joint tactical area communications systems to have access to precision targeting in all operational environments.
