U.S. Navy awards Northrop Grumman shipyard maintenance contract

WASHINGTON, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has awarded Northrop Grumman Marine Systems Sunnyvale California a $31,599,538 shipyard maintenance contract.

Under the contract, Northrop Grumman Marine Systems will provide several maintenance services at naval shipyards, including equipment repairs, logistics support, technical documentation and publication support, and reliability and performance evaluation according to the U.S. Defense Department.

The contract also includes services to be provided to the United Kingdom, including the provision of expendable hardware such as D5 gas generator cases, launch tube closures, and additional spare and repair parts. The company will also provide Stategic Systems Programs Alterations for the United Kingdom, which includes work to refresh the launcher subsystem components.

Work on the contract will be performed in Sunnyvale, Calif., in addition to other locations in the United States including Georgia, Florida and Missouri.
