KDSS provides the service’s Material Command with a working capital funds financial data warehouse that enables it to forecast, analyze and manage the Air Force’s more than $20 billion working capital fund. With the system, command budget analysts create the working capital fund budget exhibits and ties into the Defense Department's justification for budget development.

The Command Management System identifies additional funding, manpower, and flying hours required to ensure support to the warfighter. The system is used by more than 1,400 personnel at five Material Command centers.

“KDSS and CMS represent vital financial management capabilities for the Air Force,” said Array Defense Client Executive Mark Douglas. “Making timely, accurate and auditable financial decisions has never been more important to our Air Force.”

The length of the information technology support contract and its value were not disclosed.
