FAIRFAX, Va., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted Argon ST Inc. for the company to supply its intelligence surveillance reconnaissance technologies.
Argon, based in Virginia, was awarded the contract from the Army Communication and Electronics Command. Under the $11 million deal, Argon will deliver its Prism system for intelligence surveillance reconnaissance applications.
CECOM awarded Argon the contract to upgrade its software technologies with the Prism rapid insertion enhancement to maintain what company officials say is a tactical advantage.
"We are pleased to be recognized by the U.S. Army as a leader in providing cutting-edge intelligence surveillance reconnaissance capabilities to our troops," Terry Collins, Argon ST chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"Argon received this award in large part as a result of our flight-proven technology. Our war fighter's intelligence surveillance reconnaissance capabilities need to adapt faster than threat technologies, and we are committed to helping them do exactly that."
