Breeze-Eastern to supply hooks for CH-47s

UNION, N.J., Feb. 20 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command announced it has contracted New Jersey-based Breeze-Eastern Corp. for aircraft cargo hooks.

Breeze-Eastern is a developer of lifting devices including rescue hoists, cargo hooks and weapons-lifting systems among devices for both military and civilian aircraft. Under a $3.2 million deal, Breeze-Eastern will supply 140 C-160 cargo hooks to the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command.

Officials say the hooks will go to support operations with the CH-47 Chinook tandem rotor heavy-lift helicopter in Redstone Arsenal, Ala.

"This contract represents another milestone for Breeze-Eastern's continuing support of the U.S. Army's Chinook helicopters," Robert White, Breeze-Eastern president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"Breeze-Eastern's commitment to the U.S. Army's premier heavy-lift helicopter has been in place for over 20 years and demonstrates the company's long-term support for this aircraft which will continue to provide heavy-lift capability to the U.S. Army well into the 21st Century."
