WASHINGTON, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has given Rolls-Royce a $117.7 million contract modification to procure MV-22 aircraft engines for both the U.S. Marine Corps and Japan.
Under the contract modification, Rolls-Royce will supply 50 AE1107C engines, with 38 going to the Marines and 12 going to the government of Japan. The order combines procurement for the Navy and sales to Japan under the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program.
