SAIC receives Army engineering task order

Science Applications International Corp. is to provide support to the U.S. Army for aviation and missile development efforts.

MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- A $757 million systems and research task order has been given to SAIC to support engineering and software development by the U.S. Army.

The task order from the Army's Contracting Command – Redstone is specifically in support of the Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center, or AMRDEC, Software Engineering Directorate.

"We are proud to continue to serve the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center ...." said Science Applications International Corp.'s Jim Scanlon, senior vice president and general manager of the Army Customer Group. "We look forward to continuing to support our customer by providing high-quality services and solutions to the warfighter."

The task order for life cycle systems and software engineering support has a two-year period of performance. The majority of work will be performed at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama.

Additional information about SAIC's work for AMRDEC, which provides the Army with aviation and missile systems, was not detailed.
