NEW YORK, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- The U.S. Coast Guard has contracted L-3 Communications to upgrade C-130J aircraft using government-owned mission system suites.
Under the contract, the mission systems jointly developed by the Coast Guard and U.S. Navy will be installed on two baseline C-30J long-range surveillance aircraft. Its multiple options include installation of the suites on three other C-130Js and conversion seven HC-130J aircraft.
