MCLEAN, Va., March 4 (UPI) -- U.S. Navy has awarded Northrop Grumman a contract to continue development and improvement of combat systems trainers.
Under the SeaPort-e indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award, the company will provide designs, prototypes and products for new and updated training systems that offer enhanced training realism while being affordable and easier to operate. It will also conduct system analysis and development, technology refresh, product assurance and performance evaluation.
Northrop Grumman said its work would be in the areas of training for navigation, sensor control and weapons launching.

"We accomplish the objectives without losing fidelity -- these systems provide realistic training that allows our sailors to train as they fight."
Company work will be performed under the direction of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, in Newport, R.I.
