ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 7 (UPI) -- International security and training firm SGI Global LLC said it has acquired Advanced Weapons Training International LLC, headquartered in Maryland.
AWTI provides special operations training and client-customized international security consulting engagements. Its takeover by SGI expands SGI's operational and training capabilities.
SGI specializes in law enforcement, military and private sector operational and intelligence training and support in niche areas such as counter-threat finance and anti-money laundering/Bank Secrecy Act training and compliance. It said the acquisition will enable it to offer clients top level driving and weapons training, personnel recovery, executive protection and other specialized tactical training and support.
The acquisition broadens SGI's capacity to perform corporate, personnel, facility and supply-chain vulnerability assessments.
"This acquisition strengthens both our asset base and our training portfolio," said Michael Braun, SGI managing partner. "We now have a broader platform from which we can provide additional value to our clients' critically important mission requirements."
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
