Global Strategies boosting Asia-Pacific presence

LONDON, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Global Strategies Group, the Britain-based defense and security firm, is strengthening operations in Singapore.

The company reports that the addition of personnel and technology capabilities are integral to a longer term plan to develop a center of excellence in engineering design and systems integration in Singapore and to expansion of its business in the Asia-Pacific region.

"As strategic and economic weight continues to move eastwards, many aligned states in the Asia-Pacific region are reviewing how better to protect themselves," said Damian Perl, chairman and chief executive officer of Global Strategies Group. "There is also a renewed dialogue around enhanced regional security cooperation.

"Our expansion in Singapore and strategy to acquire new capabilities is in direct recognition of these dynamics, and the growth in demand for our capabilities. Our commitment to the region is strong, and we look forward to playing a greater role in addressing regional defense and security priorities."

Global said its focus is on a broader range of product and service offerings in counter-terrorism, C4ISR, and critical infrastructure protection in which it will integrate technologies with specialist services in areas such as mission-critical systems, cyber security, data fusion and analysis and systems integration for government clients.
