FAIRFAX, Va., Aug. 20 (UPI) -- The Royal Saudi Air Force is to receive support from Salient Federal Solutions Inc. for personnel training and enhanced interoperability with U.S. forces.

The work of the Virginia company comes under a subcontract from Merlin RamCo in support of a Saudi Support Personnel contract from the U.S. Air Force's Air Education and Training Command and Air Force Security Assistance Training Squadron as a result of a Foreign Military Sale.

The award is for one year, with a six-month option. It has an anticipated value of $4.4 million.

"Supporting AETC and AFSAT by leveraging our forward thinking and training capabilities anywhere at any time has been a strategic priority for Salient," said Bill Parker, Salient's chief operating officer. "It is an honor to apply our selectively qualified instructors for such important missions.

"We look forward to providing MRI and the Royal Saudi Air Force with solutions and training that will enable them to effectively deliver and exchange information with other nations in the most effective manner."

Salient said it will provide instructors to the Royal Saudi Air Force under the award but additional details were not disclosed.
