DSS honors company security

June 27, 2013 at 4:02 PM   |   Comments

ARLINGTON, Va., June 27 (UPI) -- Three facilities of DRS Technologies, a supplier of products and services to military forces and intelligence agencies have been recognized for their security.

The award from the U.S. Defense Security Service -- the James S. Cogswell Award for Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement -- recognizes consistent corporate industrial security practices that exceed U.S. Department of Defense requirements.

This is the first time DRS Technologies has been recognized for this achievement.

"Establishing and maintaining a security program that goes well beyond the minimum National Industrial Security Program requirements, while providing security leadership to its cleared facilities, reflects DRS's superior commitment to sustaining secure and vigilant operations around the country," DSS Director Stanley L. Sims said.

Just 25 defense industry facilities from more than 13,000 around the United States this year were recognized by DSS for the Cogswell Award.

Earlier this year the company was presented with the Defense Security Service Award for Excellence in Counterintelligence for its protection of technology and classified information.
