LONDON, June 13 (UPI) -- Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems of Britain is supplying a ground-to-air communication system to the Dutch Caribbean Air Navigation Service Provider.

The installation of the radios, on a hilltop on the Caribbean island of Curacao, part of the Netherlands Antilles, will provide ground-to-air communications for pilots throughout the Curacao Flight Information Region.

Northrop Grumman Park Services said it has already conducted an initial site survey and an assessment of the predicted coverage that would be achieved.

High-power, 200W T6 VHF radios have already been delivered to the customer, it said.

The Northrop Grumman subsidiary specializes in providing extended-range communication facilities for oceanic airspace and its systems are in use in areas such as Hudson Bay in Canada, Greenland, the Bay of Bengal, the South China Sea and the Arabian Gulf.

No information was given on the value of the contract.
