The value of the contract, the number of units to be supplied and their delivery scheduled were not detailed.

"For more than 50 years, Exelis has been advancing night-vision technology to support the missions of our domestic and international customers," said Nick Bobay, president of the Exelis Night Vision & Tactical Communications Systems division. "Our i-Aware TM-NVG provides the night vision capability our customers have come to expect and new capabilities that our customers will need for the future."

The i-Aware system is a multipurpose night vision goggle that connects the individual soldier to the larger tactical network for real-time video access to critical tactical intelligence.

In addition to allowing the sharing of video from the soldier to the network it can be used as a stand-alone visual aid.

Exelis and Selex ES in 2012 signed an exclusive agreement for the supply of the i-Aware TM-NVG to the Italian market.
