"Optovac offers a wide selection of solutions ... including a complete range of portable optronic equipment, the TEOS optronic surveillance system, and navigation systems for land and naval applications," Sagem said. "The company will also spotlight Sagem's avionics expertise, particularly for autopilots and attitude and heading reference systems."

Sagem is heavily involved in the Brazilian military market. It produces all flight controls for Eurocopter aircraft operating in the country and optronic masts for the Brazilian Navy's Scorpene class submarines.

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer recently selected Sagem to develop the horizontal trim compensator for its new KC-390 military transport.
