SAIC to maintain security systems

MCLEAN, Va., March 15 (UPI) -- A prime contract to provide maintenance and services for various U.S. Army physical and electronic security systems has been given to SAIC.

The award -- an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract vehicle -- from the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center Huntsville is for one year of performance with four one-year options. The contract's overall value is $315 million if all options are exercised. Ten companies share in the contract.

CEHNC supports ballistic missile defense, installation support, ordnance and explosives, engineering, chemical demilitarization programs.

Science Applications International Corp. said it will provide maintenance and services for access control point, electronic and physical security systems, utility monitoring and control and other systems. Work will include maintenance, repair, modernization and central monitoring.

"We look forward to providing worldwide maintenance and service for access control point, electronic and physical security systems, UMCS and related systems, enabling critical protection of people, assets and information," said John Thomas, SAIC senior vice president and group general manager.
