MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Alion Science and Technology will provide strategic planning and technical support for the U.S. Defense Department's simulation and modeling activities.
The support and services will be for a wide range of advanced modeling and simulation tasks for the department's Modeling and Simulation Coordinating Office, including modernization of information systems, improving compliance with M&S standards, determining the return on investment of M&S services, and coordinating international M&S technical developments.
The contract is until Sept. 24, 2015, and is worth a total of $10.6 million.
"By providing M&SCO with greater ability to promote interoperability and reuse of solutions within the Department of Defense community, Alion's modeling and simulation work can help save costs and advance the DOD's M&S strategic vision and goals," said Terri Spoonhour, group senior vice president and manager of the Distributed Simulation Group.
