NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Banneker Industries, a U.S. supply chain services company, has opened a Regional Distribution Center in Alabama to support the U.S. Army's Redstone Arsenal.
The company said the facility in Huntsville, Ala., will work with regional contractors and in cooperation with an unidentified prime contractor will directly support U.S. Navy missile programs with value-added warehousing, kitting, quality inspection and transportation services to and from Redstone.
"Team Banneker is excited to expand our service capabilities to the southeast, especially Huntsville," said Banneker Government Contracting Specialist Bill Wells.
"This key location will allow us to continue supporting our aerospace and defense partners while leveraging our expertise to support other elements of the Department of Defense and U.S. Military, particularly the Army Aviation and Missile Command, the Missile Defense Agency and the Space and Missile Defense Command."
Banneker Industries is a minority and women-owned small business with headquarters in Rhode Island.
