WARNER ROBINS, Ga., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- The first C-130 upgraded by the Warner Robins Air logistics Center under the U.S. Air Force Avionics Modernization Program has been completed.

The avionics modernization improves and simplifies the use cockpit displays and systems and standardizes the various cockpit configurations of the various models of C-130s used by the service.

"Boeing is excited to see this upgrade become a reality for America's armed forces," said Mahesh Reddy, Boeing C-130 AMP program director. "C-130 AMP will standardize the C-130H fleet and reduce annual ownership cost while offering the crews more situational awareness to perform their missions."

Additional information on the upgrades and the length of time to perform the modernization process were not disclosed.

A second modernization conducted at the Georgia air base is scheduled for completion and delivery next month.
