MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Science Applications International Corp. will upgrade U.S. Transportation Security Administration explosives detectors under a $25 million order.
The company said the 210 screeners to be upgraded are Reveal Imaging CT-80 systems. The screeners will be upgraded to the next-generation CT-80DR system.
The CT-80DR is based on Reveal's proven CT technology and performance and will provide the TSA with enhanced capabilities in checked baggage screening.
Reveal, a wholly owned subsidiary of SAIC, developed and has deployed hundreds of reduced-sized explosive detection systems in the United States and internationally. The Reveal CT-80DR system features proprietary dual-energy computed tomography X-ray technology that provides enhanced detection and false alarm rate performance at an economical price.
