DynCorp given Sealift Command contract

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Sept. 6 (UPI) -- DynCorp International has received a U.S. Navy contract for the operation and maintenance of communications suites on U.S. Military Sealift Command vessels.

The competitively awarded, fixed-price contract has one base year and four option years. The total contract value is $20.9 million if all options are exercised.

"We are honored that the U.S. Navy has chosen us for this important contract, expanding our relationship with the Navy and highlighting our experience in the communications space," said George Krivo, vice president of DI's Operations and Maintenance Business area.

This is the third consecutive award of this program to the company. The first award of this contract to DynCorp International was in July 2001 for five years, with a second follow-on award in October 2006, again for five years. Under the new contract, DI will provide operations and maintenance services on three maritime prepositioning squadrons and to as many as nine Joint High Speed Vessels.
