NORTHPOINT, N.Y., May 20 (UPI) -- Secure Decisions, a visual analytic tools developer for cyber defense, is now a resident research partner at the Morrelly Homeland Security Center in New York.

The Morrelly Center -- owned and operated by the Applied Science Foundation for Homeland Security -- brings together public and private organizations to accelerate research and development of technology for local and state first responders and law enforcement.

"As a resident research partner, Secure Decisions is broadening the capabilities of the foundation to address our homeland security needs," said Frank Otto, president of Applied Science Foundation for Homeland Security. "We look forward to working with the company in transitioning their cyber security and visualization technology to help protect our country and state's critical infrastructures, as they have done for the U.S. military and commercial enterprises."

One of the first projects Secure Decisions is working on with the foundation is called "WildCAT." Under the WildCAT project, funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Secure Decisions is developing new capabilities for detecting rogue wireless access points near high-value targets.

Secure Decisions, located in Bethpage, N.Y., is adapting its wireless security visualization product, MeerCAT, to help security teams analyze wireless intrusion detection data collected by patrol cars. MeerCAT was initially developed for the U.S. military and intelligence community and is currently used within the U.S. government and IT security enterprises.
