SAIC subcontracts ammo logistics support

FALLS CHURCH, Va., March 17 (UPI) -- DynCorp International will provide ammunition logistics services to the U.S. military's 1st Theater Sustainment Command under a subcontract from SAIC.

The subcontract from Virginia's Science Applications International Corp. has a one-year base period of performance and four one-year options. The total contract value is more than $33 million if all options are exercised.

Work will be performed primarily in Kuwait.

Under the subcontract, DynCorp International will help provide labor and other resources necessary for the storage and handling of ammunition.

"DynCorp International is proud to continue serving our country as part of the SAIC team in such an important and vital role in the Middle East," said George Krivo, vice president of DynCorp International's Operations and Maintenance business area.

The 1st TSC provides logistical support across the U.S. Central Command's theater of operation, executing operational sustainment, and conducting coalition, joint, reception, staging and onward movement; redeployment and re-posturing of forces and infrastructure sustainment.
