Elbit developing new display for C-17s

FORT WORTH, Texas, March 10 (UPI) -- A new display system for use by U.S. Air Force C-17 pilots in reduced visibility conditions is being developed by Elbit Systems of America LLC.

The terms and value of the award from the aircraft maker, Boeing, for the Replacement Head Up Display weren't disclosed but Elbit said the contract contains options for recurring production, depot support and repairs.

Elbit said its HUD Computer Unit design includes cutting-edge processing and graphic capabilities to increase approach stability and pilot situational awareness.

Elbit Systems of America is a wholly owned subsidiary of Israel's Elbit Systems Ltd.
