"Our solution will deliver to the (Australian military) uninterrupted Chinook CH-47D support through to the end of the life-of-type of this aircraft in … service and the lowest possible transition risk for introduction of the Chinook CH-47F aircraft," said BAE Systems Australia Managing Director Jim McDowell.

McDowell said the contract underscores the company's record of success over the past 14 years as the maintenance provider for battlefield and support aircraft.

In recent years, BAE Systems Australia has delivered significant efficiency improvements and cost-base reductions for its services and products to the Australian government, he said, demonstrating BAE's commitment to support the Australian military and the Defense Materiel Organization it's the country's Strategic Reform Program.
