HAIFA, Israel, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- A consortium led by Israel's Elbit Systems Ltd. will supply the Polish army with mobile, multi-sensor monitoring and surveillance systems.
The contract from Poland's Ministry of Defense is valued at about $16 million.
The project is expected to be completed in the next year.

"Offering innovative end-to-end surveillance capabilities, we are able to provide our customers with cutting-edge intelligence solutions and we hope this project will be followed by further projects in Poland and in other countries as well."
According to the contract, a consortium comprised of Elbit Systems Land, C4I-Tadiran and the Polish Military Communication Institute, will provide a variety of sensors to be deployed onboard a ROSOMAK 8X8 vehicle.
The systems on the vehicle will be comprised of a variety of visual payloads. Among them: television, thermal vision systems and motion detection battlefield surveillance radar.
Elbit said the project will be performed in cooperation with the local Polish industries.
