DISA certifies Acme's Control products

BEDFORD, Mass., Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Acme Packet Inc.'s Session Border Control products have been certified for interoperability with U.S. Department of Defense networks.

The Massachusetts company said certification of its Net-Net 3820 and Net-Net 4500 controllers were made by the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency, Joint Interoperability Test Command, at Fort Huachuca in Arizona.

"We are proud that our products have met the (Defense Department's) demanding requirements and achieved full certification," said Andy Ory, chief executive officer and co-founder of Acme Packet. "We look forward to working with the Department of Defense and other governmental organizations to enable them to leverage the power of all-IP communications."

The certified products feature Acme Packet's hardware designed to provide the critical controls for delivering trusted, first-class interactive communications -- voice, video and multimedia -- across IP network borders.

Certification means the Acme Packet products are now listed on the Department of Defense's Unified Capabilities Approved Product List, indicating they have met the department's Enterprise security requirements.
