URS awarded Army FLRC support deal

SAN FRANCISCO, June 8 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army selected URS Corp. to provide vehicles and other equipment with maintenance and logistics support at Fort Hood and Fort Carson.

San Francisco's engineering, construction and technical solutions provider URS received the two contracts to support mission critical repair and logistics through Field Logistics Readiness Centers at Fort Hood, Texas, and Fort Carson, Colo.

"We are pleased to have been selected for these contracts, which underscore URS' expertise in providing a full range of logistics and maintenance services to all branches of the U.S. military," Randall Wotring, URS president of federal services, said in a statement.

Under the contracts, URS says it will be responsible for providing the Army with equipment repairs and returns wherever military operations are taking place. Company officials say it will primarily support Fort Hood and Fort Carson.

The two contracts are worth $190 million and include organizational and field level maintenance requirements for vehicles and other equipment.
