Tutor Perini to compete for Navy work

SYLMAR, Calif., May 12 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted Tutor Perini Corp. to compete for facility construction and renovation task orders in the Pacific Ocean area of responsibility.

Construction services company Tutor Perini, which has headquarters in California, said Tuesday it was selected for a multiple award design-build indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract vehicle.

Under the contract, awarded by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific, Tutor Perini will compete for task orders supporting the construction of barracks, dormitories, medical buildings and hangars among other facilities and infrastructure awards.

The $4 billion contract vehicle includes seven companies that will compete for the facilities work in the Navy's Guam installation along with other sites in the Pacific area of responsibility.

"We are extremely pleased to have an opportunity to participate in the multiple award construction contract and look forward to building vital Naval facilities in the Pacific," Tutor Perini Chief Executive Officer Ronald Tutor said in a statement.
