KRP to continue LOGCAP III services

HOUSTON, May 7 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army selected KBR to continue its services under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program III contract vehicle in the Iraqi military theater.

The Army announced in April that protests on the $150 billion next-generation LOGCAP IV vehicle had been settled, which moved the program forward with contractors KBR, DynCorp and Fluor. The Basic Life Support services section of LOGCAP IV was canceled resulting in an authorization for KBR to continue its LOGCAP III services.

"The decision to continue with KBR on LOGCAP III was based on input from theater commanders, the anticipated cost of the transition and contractor performance," Mark Williams, KBR Infrastructure, Government and Power president, said in a statement.

Under the deal KBR will continue it LOGCAP III work providing U.S. bases in Iraq with mission critical life services to support the ongoing operations in the country.
