Contract extended for Oshkosh in Kuwait

OSHKOSH, Wis., April 19 (UPI) -- Wisconsin's Oshkosh Defense announced it received a contract extension to retain 100 field service representatives in Kuwait through June.

Oshkosh Defense said Force Protection Industries Inc. placed a purchase order for $11 million to extend FSR contracts in Kuwait. The FSRs will work in support the Oshkosh TAK-4 suspension system for the FPII "Cougar" Mine Resistance Ambush Protected vehicles.

The U.S. government put the TAK-4 through more than 500,000 miles of testing. It is deployed on the Oshkosh MRAP All-Terrain Vehicle and on the Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacements.

"We've had great success in retrofitting legacy MRAPs with our TAK-4 independent suspension system, enabling the military's current fleet to deliver exceptional off-road performance and crew comfort," said Andy Hove, executive vice president at Oshkosh.

The contract extension allows FSRs with Oshkosh to remain in Kuwait through June.

"Our FSRs allow us to move quickly by working in theater with our troops, bringing Oshkosh technology and support directly to our warfighters," added Hove.
