Oshkosh awarded MTVR follow-on

OSHKOSH, Wis., Jan. 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. Marine Corps has awarded Oshkosh Corp. a follow-on contract for the company to deliver additional tactical vehicles and armor add-on kits.

U.S. company Oshkosh was selected for the contract from the Marine Corps Systems Command. Under the $31.5 million deal Oshkosh will deliver 90 of its Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacements to the Marines in several variants including its cargo, tractor, wrecker and dump models.

The contract also includes the installation of Oshkosh's armor kits for 300 of the Marines vehicles at the company's North Carolina and California service centers.

According to a news release the Oshkosh Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacements is an "all-terrain, multipurpose logistics vehicle used by the Marines and Navy Seabees … us(ing) the Oshkosh TAK-4 independent suspension system, which has undergone more than 500,000 miles of government testing."
