WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- U.S. company ITT Corp. released plans to better address the requirements of the defense market through a realignment of its security and defense operations.
ITT announced it will realign seven of its separate defense business units into three larger divisions that it says will reduce redundancies and more effectively address evolving technologies needs of the global market.
Company officials say the strategic move with its defense segment, now called ITT Defense and Information Solutions, is part of an effort to better coordinate its defense approach and expand on its market footprint.
"We remain very proud of our premier defense technologies that serve the needs of our fighting men and women wherever they may deploy, and we are equally excited about the opportunity to better leverage the growing strength of our portfolio in adjacent markets, such as air traffic management, cyber security and global intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance," Dave Melcher, ITT Defense and Information Solutions president, said in a statement.
