Plasan to support M-ATV program

BENNINGTON, Vt., Dec. 24 (UPI) -- U.S. company Oshkosh Defense has awarded Plasan a subcontract for the company to support its armored all-terrain vehicle production program.

Israeli company Plasan announced it has been selected by Oshkosh to provide the mine-resistant, ambush-protected, all-terrain vehicle program with armor kits as part of a larger effort to support ongoing U.S. operations in Afghanistan.

Under the deal, Plasan will provide Oshkosh with 400 of its M-ATV armor kits designed to protect troops from roadside bombs and other explosive and ballistic threats.

"This new order marks the sixth additional order for armor kits in five months," Yael Viesel, Plasan North America marketing and business director, said in a statement.

"These increased orders are a vote of confidence in Plasan's proven track record of on-time delivery."
