BINGEN, Wash., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Insitu Inc. has achieved a milestone with its ScanEagle unmanned aircraft system after its successful test flight aboard a Canadian defense vessel.

Washington State-based Insitu announced the Canadian Forces Maritime Warfare Center recently conducted flight test of its ScanEagle UAS. The test took place aboard the Canadian navy's HMCS Glace Bay (MM 701) coastal defense vessel.

Company officials say the ScanEagle flight demonstration included successful location and tracking capabilities among other evaluation factors and marked a milestone for the UAS technology.

"The ScanEagle performed flawlessly during the demonstration," Sid Green, Glace Bay commanding officer, said in a statement.

"It allowed military personnel from the Canadian Army, Navy and Coast Guard to see first-hand the value that ScanEagle provides to our Forces."
