ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted Stanley Inc. to provide the Integrated Material Management Operations Systems program with maintenance services.
Stanley Inc. was selected by the Army Sustainment Command as part of the Army War Reserve Deployment System contract vehicle. Under the $118.7 million award, Stanley will help sustain the Army Preposition Stock and Army Maintenance Management capabilities. The contract assists the Army Materiel Command, Army Sustainment Command and Installation Maintenance Divisions.
Officials say the contract is part of an effort to support the Army Reset and Retrograde initiatives and help maintain tracking and identification of stored equipment.
"Stanley is honored to be a part of Army Sustainment Command's mission to sustain American fighting forces worldwide," Phil Nolan, Stanley's chairman, president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"We look forward to providing the logistics automation capabilities and support services that will assist with this critical task."
