BAE Systems protests FMTV rebuy selection

ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- BAE Systems announced it is protesting the recent selection of Oshkosh Defense by the U.S. Army for the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles rebuy program.

BAE said Tuesday it filed a protest with the U.S. Government Accountability Office suggesting the Army did not properly evaluate the submitted proposals.

The protest requests a review of the Army's choice to award Oshkosh Defense a prime contract for the FMTV rebuy program. As part of the five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity deal, Oshkosh Defense was selected to support the Army FMTV rebuy program with the production of up to 23,000 tactical vehicles and trailers.

"The Army's stated objective was to conduct a best-value competition based upon a clear-cut set of criteria," Linda Hudson, BAE Systems Land and Armaments, president said in a statement.

"We are seriously concerned that this did not happen."
