BLUE BELL, Pa., Aug. 28 (UPI) -- The U.S. Joint Forces Command has contracted Unisys to support the testing and evaluation of the security of an information-sharing solution.
Pennsylvania-based Unisys was awarded the contract to test its Stealth Solution for Network as part the Defense Information Systems Agency's Encore II contract vehicle.
The testing work is expected to take place at the JFCOM site in Norfolk, Va., and at the Joint Transformation Command for Intelligence site in Suffolk, Va. Officials say Unisys will evaluate the encryption and bit-splitting capabilities of its Stealth Solution for Network technology to ensure sensitive data remains secure.
"This technology can address a longstanding challenge for the Department of Defense and other government agencies: how to simplify their networks without sacrificing security, while delivering significant cost savings," Jim Geiger, Unisys Federal Systems Department of Defense managing partner, said in a statement.
"Unisys will draw upon its extensive experience with the Unisys Stealth Solution for Networks to support the Joint Forces Command and the Joint Transformation Command for Intelligence in this pioneering effort to promote secure data and information sharing among various communities within the Defense Department."
