SRA to provide TSA with IT assessments

FAIRFAX, Va., Aug. 26 (UPI) -- The U.S. Homeland Security Department has contracted SRA International Inc. to monitor information technology enterprise for cybersecurity threats.

U.S. company SRA was awarded the DHS contract to support IT enterprise for the Transportation Security Administration. Under the $53 million task order, awarded as part of the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading-Edge Solutions, or EAGLE, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract vehicle, SRA will provide the TSA with monitoring support and IT assessment services to prevent cybersecurity threats.

Officials say as part of the EAGLE contract, SRA will provide primary and failover security operations center, or SOC, services including vulnerability evaluations among other requirements.

"The SOC's mission is of national importance and the SRA team will partner with TSA to ensure their IT environment remains a secure enabler for transportation security," Pat Burke, SRA senior vice president national security sector, said in a statement.

"The SRA approach allows TSA to shift focus from reactive incident response to proactive attack prevention, and provides a reliable, scalable service that can easily adapt to changes in TSA's IT environment."
