Intellicheck gets Marines certification

PORT TOWNSEND, Wash., Aug. 26 (UPI) -- The U.S. Marine Corps has granted Intellicheck Mobilisa Inc. a department-wide certification for the company's access control system.

Washington state-based Intellicheck Mobilisa announced it has been awarded a Marine Corps-wide authority to operate authorization. The certification, which follows a certification from both the Army and the Navy, allows all Marine Corps bases the ability to procure Intellicheck Mobilisa's Defense ID technology.

The Defense ID, an advanced access control system, is designed to screen individuals against most-wanted lists and certifies an authorized entry to a base.

"We believe the United States Marine Corps-wide authority to operate is a testament to the value and importance of our security system," Nelson Ludlow, Intellicheck Mobilisa chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"It is especially rewarding to note that this is the third authority to operate we have received in five months, following accreditations from the U.S. Army and Navy."
