Missile Defense awards MicroTech follow-on

VIENNA, Va., Aug. 3 (UPI) -- The U.S. Missile Defense Agency has awarded MicroTech a contracted extension to continue providing telecommunications support services.

U.S. company MicroTech was awarded a more than $25 million contract extension from the Missile Defense Agency, which is responsible for directing the U.S. ballistic missile defense program.

Under the deal, MicroTech will continue operating and maintaining video teleconferencing services supporting critical decision-making for U.S. defense authorities.

"We are honored that Missile Defense Agency has selected MicroTech to support Missile Defense Agency's objective of building the largest and most advanced classified video teleconferencing network in Defense Department," Tony Jimenez, MicroTech president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
