MALD, a system designed to protect aircrews and aircraft by duplicating U.S. and allied aircraft combat flight profiles, will undergo flight tests in realistic and demanding scenarios.

"Raytheon will begin full rate production of MALD following the successful initial operational test and evaluation program," Harry Schulte, Raytheon Missile Systems vice president of Air Warfare Systems, said in a statement.

"We expect the program to go well because Raytheon has earned a reputation for reliability and meeting its commitments to the warfighter."
