HAWTHORNE, Calif., Feb. 13 (UPI) -- U.S. company OSI Systems Inc. has received a contract order for its cargo and vehicle inspection technologies.
OSI Systems says its Rapiscan Systems division was awarded the contract from an undisclosed international customs authority.
Under an $11 million contract, Rapiscan will deliver its Eagle M4500 X-ray cargo scanning system to support efforts to identify narcotics, weapons and explosive material among other threats.
"We are honored to have been selected to provide scanning equipment at a key government agency," Deepak Chopra, OSI Systems chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"The Rapiscan Eagle M4500 is capable of inspecting trucks and shipping containers for manifest verification and identification of a wide range of threats including narcotics, weapons and contraband," Chopra added.
