VSE says it will use Raytheon's HFSWR system as part of a contract with Romania to secure the country's Black Sea coastal waters. Officials say the HFSWR system will provide continuous security coverage of Romania's approximately 200 nautical miles along the Black Sea known as the country's Exclusive Economic Zone.

"When industry partners with government agencies, the customer benefits with the best technology available from both worlds," Brian Smith, Raytheon Canada general manager, said in a statement.

"We worked with Defense Research and Development Canada to research and develop this maritime domain awareness technology and are pleased to offer Romania this solution."
