ATK and BAE, which in the past have collaborated on the AN/AAR-47 and AN/AAR-57 missile warning systems, together will develop a bid for a next-generation rotary-wing aircraft missile warning system technology as part of the Navy and Marine Corps JATAS program.

"ATK and BAE Systems have been credited for saving dozens of aircraft and their crews from hostile fire," Bill Kasting, ATK Integrated Systems division vice president and general manager, said in a statement.

"The teaming agreement will facilitate a joint effort that offers the best capabilities of both companies to develop a highly effective aircraft survivability system to meet existing and emerging battlefield threats."
