Brijot delivers scanner to ARCENT

ORLANDO, Fla., May 21 (UPI) -- Brijot Imaging Systems Inc. announced it delivered its ScanPort body imaging scanning technology to the Third U.S. Army/U.S. Army Forces Central Command.

The Army contracted Brijot for their trademarked ScanPort to manage people screening at the entrances to secured military bases. The ScanPort is a ruggedized and portable scanner that uses passive millimeter waves to detect concealed weapons and improvised explosive devices on the body, among other threats.

Officials say Brijot's ScanPort is an effort to address the challenges of outdoor screening locations the military has to face in conflict zones and other difficult security checkpoints.

"We are proud to deliver this solution. The ScanPort product implements our advanced millimeter wave technology in the challenging military environment while, simultaneously, providing a platform for integration of other technologies used at access control points, such as surveillance, biometrics and other sensors," retired Army Lt. Col. Troy Techau, Brijot vice president of business development, said in a statement.
