Lockheed Martin, originally awarded the JTRS AMF contract in March 2008, subcontracted Raytheon to support the development of the joint airborne radio for the JTRS AMF. Raytheon will provide the program with power supplies and filters among other technologies.

Officials say the AMF domain is an effort to network more than 160 platform types and ensure interoperability for the JTRS next-generation radio program.

"We have more than 40 years of experience solving the military's communications challenges," Jerry Powlen, Raytheon network centric systems integrated communications systems vice president, said in a statement. "Applying our systems integration experience and building on our communications expertise to deliver this solution assure our troops have the very best capability."
