Billy named VP of global security

NEWARK, N.J., March 17 (UPI) -- New Jersey-based Prudential Financial says it has named a counterterrorism expert as the company's new vice president of global security.

Prudential announced that former Federal Bureau of Investigation Assistant Director Joseph Billy Jr. has been named vice president of global security in a company initiative to bring Billy's decades of security experience to strengthen Prudential's safety and security of employees and stakeholders.

"We're extremely pleased to welcome Joseph to Prudential's security team," Joyce Leibowitz, Prudential shared services senior vice president, said in a statement. "His experience and insight into international security further strengthens our ability to uphold the safety and security of our employees and stakeholders around the world."

Billy, a 30-year veteran of the FBI, was formerly the director in charge of the Washington-based FBI Counterterrorism Division. He has served as the supervisor for the FBI's joint terrorism task force with the New York City Police Department.

"Prudential is dedicated to protecting the company's people and its assets, and Joseph's impressive background and experience will help ensure that we can take our services to the next level," a Prudential spokesperson said.
